PREVIEW v St Clements

6 Oct 2016 by Peter Arnett

League Leaders Host Wetherby (York 4).

It’s a tantalising clash at the Energise Sports Centre as Wetherby Athletic travel to play current league leaders St Clements. This game has a 2pm kick off and the weather should be cloudy with sunny intervals!

Chris Plews’s men will be looking to pick themselves up following a disappointing exit from the West Riding County Challenge Trophy last weekend. It’s never nice going out on the lottery that is penalties but, despite a valiant attempt against Steeton AFC reserves, this is exactly what happened.

Like Wetherby, St Clements can boast an unbeaten record so far in the league, however the leaders have played two games more than the Tangerines, so this will be an ideal opportunity for Wetherby to try and close the gap.

Should Athletic be successful in getting all three points than they could move into second place (dependant on other results). A defeat could see them drop into 10th place.

This match will be officiated by Mr John Dunwoody.
